Samsung officially annonced two new AMOLED phones today.

The i8910 Omnia HD is a touch-screen Symbian OS phone, with HD video capabilities. But the exciting part is the 3.7" OLED display (360x640, 16:9 aspect ratio). That is the largest OLED display in a phone yet...

The second phone is the music-centric M7600 Beat DJ. With some funky music capabilities, this one has a smaller (2.8") OLED.

Samsung officially announced the W7900 projector phone for Korea. The same phone will be sold in Europe under the name i7410. These phones are the first ones to include a pico projector (using TI's DLP chip).

The phones have a 2.8" AMOLED (240x400).

Slashgear has reviewed the Vuzix iWear AV230XL OLED headset. The OLED is a 320x240 microdisplay, showing the equivalent of 44" TV.

The reviewer is disaapointed in the low resolution, but says that OLED quality is good, and so is the battery life.

iRiver released some more information about their P20 player. The display is a 4.1" AMOLED (480x272). The player includes 80GB of memory (there is also a 120GB version coming later), DMB, FM radio, voice recording and office-documents viewer.

The P20 will be released in Japan by the end of the month, and will sell for 435$. 

It seems like AMOLED phones are hardly news, and I'll soon stop covering these... but in the meantime, it's great to see more mid-ranged phones using OLED displays. Reportedly the candybar S7220 has a 2.4" AMOLED, and a 5Mp camera. The phone is not a touchscreen, unlike the other new Samsung phones.

So now we hear of a third Samsung AMOLED phone to be announced in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2009. If this is true, then it will be an exciting event for OLEDs with 3 new Samsung phones, and probably more from other companies as well.

We do not have any details about the display, other than that it's a touchscreen AMOLED. The i8910 runs Symbian S60v5, supports DivX, has a 8mp camera, HDMI, Wi-Fi and can record HD video,

UPDATE: The phone is actually called S8300 Ultra Touch, and it is officially announced. Oh, and there's a video review, too.

It seems like Samsung will be releasing a lot of new phones soon at the Mobile World Congress 2009, and here's another OLED one. Again, currently this is only a rumor...

Samsung M7600

The M7600 has a touchscreen 2.8" AMOLED,  Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower audio system and a DJ-scratch software via the touchscreen. It also has a GPS, DivX support and will be shipping by May.

There seems to be several new Samsung phones coming up, according to a recent 'leak'. One of them is the S5050 slider:

It has a 2.2" AMOLED display, 3.2mp camera with LED flash, FM radio/RDS and 50MB internal memory + microSD slot.

Sporting a 3.2 megapixel
camera and touch-sensitive keys below the display it is the first
mid-range handset to feature a 2.2" OLED display. It's not a 3G phone (rather a GSM/GPRS/EDGE - 2.75G). If true than this is rather interesting as it's a mid-range phone with a nice OLED display.
