LG display reported its financial results for Q3 2017 - revenues increased 4% over 2016 to reach $6.18 billion and operating profit increased 81% and reached $520 million.
LGD reported that it has increased its OLED TV panel shipments as it increased production capacity, and its wallpaper OLED TVs have received "excellent responses in the market". LGD says it will continue to focus on OLED products as part of its long-term preparation for the future.
LGD aims to produce 1.7 million OLED TV panels in 2017. In 2018 LGD will be increase its capacity and will produce between 2.5 million to 2.8 million OLED TVs.
Regarding its small/medium P-OLED displays, LGD indeed acknowledges that the current displays, used in the LG V30 and Google Pixel 2 XL are indeed produced at its small E2 line. The E5 has started mass production in Q3 2017 but will only start to output displays for products that will launch at the end of 2017.
