Digitimes says that they estimate that OLED TVs will grab around 2% of the large TV (40" and larger) market. Update: It's not clear when they think this will happen, they probably mean 2015.

The current leader in OLED TV plans seems to be LG Display - they plan to introduce 55" OLED TVs in 2012 in small quantities (tens of thousands of units at first).

I re-read the article and I think you're right - they are not talking about 2012. It's not clear to what year they are referring to though, but 2% at 2015 might make sense.
I think the original article at digitimes means 2% market share in 2015, not 2012. 2% market share in 2012 would be related to 5 million units, a too high number for this short timeframe.
