Our friends from PortableGear.nl are at MWC 2012, and they posted three interesting videos comparing AMOLED displays to LCD ones. Their conclusion is that it's getting harder and harder to distinguish between all those technologies, as all theses screens are superb. The first video compares the Super AMOLED HD on the Galaxy Note with the True HD IPS on the LG Optimus 4X HD:
The second video compares the Super AMOLED on the HTC One S versus the Super LCD 2 on the HTC One X:
And the final video compares the Super AMOLED HD on the Galaxy Note to the Super PLS LCD on the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet:
Unfortunately, PortableGear didn't compare any device with Samsung's top AMOLED display technology, the Super AMOLED Plus.

i would change lcd for oled anytime.. my old ipad with lcd screen is a joke, compared to my new galaxy tab 7.7 with oled! you can put movie mode on tab 7.7 so that colors look more natural!
i agree that dynamic mode creates oled screen too saturated and unnatural, but every device should have option to put movie mode, as tab 7.7.
And what are we supposed to see from these videos???
Like the contrast difference in bright room, taken by a camera and viewed on our LCDs? Oh no wait thats not possible.. So the response time difference taken by a camera and viewed on our LCDs... no thats not it... So the reflection of the top layer? No wait that has nothing to do with OLEDs or LCDs...
Well, actually one of these videos has some information value and that's is the one comparing viewing angles. And even that has a slight problem. IPS panels really have comparable viewing angles to OLEDs except black color. Black color on IPS panels is either with brighter top and bottom of the screen (HIPS) or with violet corners (SIPS), so again... you will not see this from such videos.
