BOE demonstrated its latest OLED technologies and displays at SID Displayweek 2022. The most interesting display is a 95-inch 8K HDR OLED display, produced on an Oxide-TFT panel with a white-OLED CF structure. The panel was produced using an evaporation method.
This is the first time we hear of BOE's evaporation TV program, since around 2016. The company has an active inkjet printing OLED TV project, and in December 2019 it unveiled a 55" 8K (160 PPI) printed OLED TV prototype.
We understand that BOE hasn't got a plan for production of large-area OLED TV panels, but it is getting ready to have mass production capabilities.
BOE also showcased 17.3" foldable OLED display, with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and ultra-slim bezels. This display, BOE reveal, is exclusively supplied to ASUS for the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED laptop (which should launch later in 2022).
The company also showed other technologies, including a transparent flexible OLED, a display that can fold both inwards and outwards (this seems to be a trend now), a rollable OLED, a tri-fold display and OLEDs with integrated under-display camera and fingerprint sensors.
