UBI Research says that OLED emitting material sales amounted to $412 million in the second quarter of 2022, up 7.8% from last year. Sales decreased about 2.1% from Q1 2022.
UBI says that the sales of OLED panels were seasonably low in the second quarter (compared to Q1), but this was somewhat offset due to favorable exchange rates, and supply of new materials with higher prices.
UBI estimates that OLED emitting material sales will reach $1.81 billion in 2022, and will grow to around $2.5 billion in 2026. By 2026, WOLED TV emitting material sales will reach $900 million (up from $430 in 2022). Sales of materials for tandem stack OLEDs (used in IT and automotive applications, mostly) will grow to $190 million in 2026.
Last month DSCC said that AMOLED stack material revenues will grow at a 18% from 2020 ($1.07 billion) to 2026 ($2.9 billion). If UDC actually manages to release a commercial blue PHOLED, the market could even exceed $3 billion.
