China-based DeePoon's E2 is a VR headset that features a 1920x1080 75Hz 120-FOV AMOLED display (made by Samsung Display). The E2 headset weighs 608 grams and can connect to a Windows computer via HDMI 1.4B or a USB connection.

Alcatel Vision

Alcatel's Vision is a stand-alone VR headset that features an on-board Unity-based computer - an eight-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The vision uses two 3.8" 1080x1020 AMOLEDs (one for each eye).

OSVR HMD

The OSVR is an open-source VR HMD system, developed by Razer and sensics. The OSVR is still under development, and the so-called HDK2 (hacker development kit), announced in 2016, uses a 2160x1200 90fps AMOLED display.

The OSVR HDK2 is now shipping for $399 (basic configuration, with two bundled games).

DeePoon M2

DeePoon's M2 is a VR headset that includes an on-device computer using Samsung's Exynos 7420 chipset. The M2's display is a 2560x1440 AMOLED display made by SDC. Deepon operates what it says to be the largest VR content platform in China with over 150 VR games and 5 million users.

DeePoon started shipping the M2 in June 2016 in China, and it's available in the US for $599.

Sulon Q

Sulon's Q VR headset is a tether-free wear-and-play headset that includes an entire Windows 10 computer on the headset itself (AMD FC-8800P cpu, Radeon R7 GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD). The display is a 2560x1440 90Hz AMOLED and it offers a 110-degree FOV.

Epson Moverio BT-300

Epson's BT-300 is an augmented-reality virtual headset that uses 720p OLED microdisplays. The BT-300 comes with a wired box that includes a quad-core (1.44 Ghz) Atom X5 chipset running Android 5.1 and includes a 5MP camera.

HTC Vive

HTC's Vive is a virtual reality headset, which uses dual 1080x1200 AMOLED displays that feature a refresh rate of 90Hz. Most Vive headsets seem to use Samsung-made 3.54" Pentile AMOLEDs, but HTC may also be using AUO's 3.8" VR AMOLEDs in some of its headsets. The Vive software is based on the SteamVR platform and connects via HDMI and USB.

Oculus Rift

The first commercial release of the Oculus Rift VR headset was announced on January 6, 2016. The Rift uses two 3.54" 1080x1200 PenTile AMOLED displays that feature a refresh rate of 90Hz.

The Rift is available for pre-order for $599 and will ship starting March 28. The kit includes the headset, an XBOX one controller, a microphone a sensor and the Oculus remote.
