Samsung's Gear VR (developed in collaboration with Oculus) was first launched in September 2014, but now Samsung announced the consumer version of the VR headset. The new model is compatiable with several Samsung Super AMOLED smartphones - the Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+. The new edition is lighter by 22% and features an improved touchpad.
The Gear VR will ship in the fall of 2015 for $99.
