Displaybank has announced that organic EL panel shipments grew 23% compared to the previous year to about 71.25 million units or $530 million (USD) in 2006. According to the company's announcement in March 2006, organic EL panel shipments were 61.1 million units and sales were $620 million in 2005.
By manufacturer, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. of Korea won the largest share in terms of shipment volume. Its shipments surpassed 15.7 million units and sales were $120 million. RiTdisplay Corp. of Taiwan came after Samsung SDI. Its shipments reached 13.3 million units. However, both manufacturers saw their shipments decrease compared to 2005. Samsung SDI's shipments declined 5%, while RiTdisplay's dropped 15%.
