Yesterday we reported that LG slashed $1,000 off their curved 4K OLED TVs, and today the company also lowered the price of the flat models (the EF9500) to match those curved ones.
So now you can buy the 55" flat 4K OLED for $2,999, and the 65" flat 4K one for $4,999. This is still priced quite high but much more affordable than only a few weeks ago when LG first launched those TVs and priced them at $6,999 for the 65" model and $5,499 for the 55" model.

If someone offered me those prices I'd even consider getting the 65" even though it'd probably be too big for the apartment. Doing a SEK to USD translation on G00gle on the prices in Sweden, the prices ends up something like $5400 for to 55" and $9000 for the 65". So yeah, I'm not buying yet!
Have they gone crazy? Probably not.My guess is that LGD have many panels just eating dust because nobody buys them for their extreme price, while new gen OLED panels rolling out.
It can be that LG just awoken to the fact that their OLED line is just to damn expensive and the middle class is not THAT big.
We'll wait and see...
