Legend Display Technology

Legend Display Technology logoLegend Design Technology was established in 1996 in Santa Clara, California with an aim to provide software products and services for LCD and OLED display panel design, modeling, analysis, simulation and debugging.

Legend design tools and services for AMOLED enables customers to perform robust pixel and panel designs for process variation and compensation, pixel optimization and reliability and performance. The software supports a-Si, LTPS and IGZO backplanes.

Lite Array

Lite Array was a subsidiary of Global Tech Advanced Innovations, which aimed to become a PMOLED developer. The company is no longer in business.

Luoyang Sifon Electronic

Luoyang Sifon Electronic logoLuoyang Sifon Electronic was established in 2001 in Luoyang, China, to manufacture high-melting metals such as tungsten and molybdenum alloys. The company produces molybdenum targets, tungsten targets and WCu wafers for the OLED industry and says LG Display uses their products for OLED production.

Luoyang Sifon's web site is no longer operating, it is not clear whether this company is still in business.

Luxell

Luxell logoLuxell Research (a subsidiary of Luxell) has developed the 'Black Layer' - a thin film structure that virtually eliminates ambient reflections, thereby enhancing display readability. Luxell has demonstrated the black layer with OLED and TFEL screens, and also has some OLED related IP.

It seems that the company's OLED program is no longer active.

MC Pioneer OLED Lighting (MPOL)

MC Pioneer OLED Lighting logoMC Pioneer OLED Lighting (MPOL) was established by Pioneer and Mitsubishi (50:50) in June 2013 to market and sale OLED lighting in Japan. MPOL was offering Verbatim's Velve OLED lighting panels (made by Pioneer and Mitsubishi).

In June 2017 Pioneer merged its OLED lighting business with Konica Minolta's OLED lighting unit to create a 50:50 joint venture, called Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED. In 2019 KMPO was dissolved following Pioneer's withdrawal from the OLED lighting market.

MicroEmissive Displays (MED)

MicroEmissive Displays (MED) was founded in 1999 with the aim of developing and commercialising a new microdisplay technology using P-OLED materials.

In september 2006 MED has announced that it has raised over $9 million, and has revealed its plans for a volume manufacturing facility for its P-OLED microdisplay products. In November 2006 we interviewed MED's CEO, Ian underwood.

In November 2008, MED have been forced to close operation following financial problems.

Midas Displays

Midas Displays logoMidas Display is a UK supplier of display modules and LED lighting products. The company currently offers several character and graphic PMOLED panels.

Molecular Glasses

Molecular Glasses logo (2018)US-based Molecular Glasses developed a new class of organic semiconductor materials for OLED displays, branded as OLEDIQ. OLEDIQ materials can be deposited by evaporation or in solution-based processes.

Molecular Glasses focused on host materials for OLEDs, and offered red, yellow, green and blue host materials.

The company seems no longer to be in business.
