Skyworth's OLED TV sales are dissappointing

China's Skyworth recently launched its new OLED TVs for 2016 - both with 4K resolution and support for HDR. In 2015 the company was optimistic about its OLED TVs - and said aims to sell 30,000 OLED TVs by the end of March 2016 (the company's FY2015) - and 200,000 OLED TVs by the end of March 2017.

Skyworth's main problem with those OLEDs was that LG Display cannot supply them with enough panels, especially the 65" ones. According to report from China, though, Skyworth is way behind its OLED goals.

During China's Golden Week celebration, Skyworth sold only 4,000 OLED TVs - below its estimates. Although TV sales in China are weak across the board, Skyworth says that the high cost of OLED TVs are a problem in the Chinese market.

"the high cost of OLED TVs are a problem in the Chinese market."

Really? Only in the Chinese market? I don't exactly see them flying off the shelves anywhere else.

Even though I'm very excited that at least the 1080p LG models can now be had for less than 2000€ in Europe now.

OLED TV at this moment has no distinguish spec which can impress the custemer. what OLED TV can do , LCD TV can do it too, thinness, curved, HDR, WGC ...

Nonsense. LCD has always had and will always have incredibly shitty black levels.

And high response time.

^^^^ and LCD blooming ,clouding ,color banding etc. and so on and so on

I hope Samsung pays you well.
