US-based stable isotopes and compound producer Cambridge Isotope Laboratories announced that it is expanding its deuterated benzene capacity at the company's production plant in Xenia, Ohio.
CIL says its Xenia expansion will increase its deuterated benzene capacity six times. Bromobenzene-d5 is used in the production of OLED displays (among other uses) and CIL reports that it was increased demand for this material which initiated the capacity expansion project and investment.

yes i agree, it is interesting. initially i thought it would be used as the solvent for solution processable OLED device manufacturing, but OLED devices based on printing, at the moment, are not widespread. I think it must be used in producing the transistor backplane, for cleaning ? (benzene used to be used in watch making years ago), not sure why just bromobenzene would not be used, perhaps deuterated bromobenzene is less toxic ? please see link below.
Any information on in which step of the OLED production process penta-deuterated benzene is used? From a chemical perspective, this sounds interesting..
