Asono M1 Multimedia Player with OLED Screen

This new media player available in Europe looks to have it all: beautiful 1.5" 65,000 color OLED screen, 1GB-4GB flash storage, 15 hours music playback, 3.5 hours video playback, a little over one ounce in weight, and the size of a credit credit.
It can play MP3 or WMA audio files, as well as AVI, DIVX, WMV, and ASF video files. The software included with the Asono M1 will properly convert the videos so they display perfectly.

Sony to release new MP3 players with OLED displays

Sony will release a completely redesigned sports series flash memory-based network Walkman in the September/October timeframe. It will be available in two versions, the silver-colored 1GB NW-S203F ($150 $120) and the black-colored 2GB NW-S205F ($120 $150).

Not only does it also have an FM tuner, but its one-line organic EL display is easy to see in the dark, and it takes just three minutes to charge up the batteries for three hours of playback, or total of 18 hours of battery life on a full charge.

Icuiti Chooses eMagin OLEDs for Tac-Eye Production

eMagin Corporation will provide several thousand microdisplays to Icuiti for production of its Tac-Eye(tm) display system. The agreement calls for an initial delivery of one thousand units with additional units to follow.

The Tac-Eye system combines ultra-low-power electronics and eMagin's industry-leading OLED microdisplays to deliver up to six hours of operation on a lithium battery. Brightness controls allow the operator to adjust for lighting conditions, daylight to darkness. Its high-contrast SVGA (800x600 triad pixels) OLED display combines with Icuiti's Quantum Optics (tm) to provide imaging from a wearable computer, laptop, thermal imager or vehicle-mounted computer system.

The World's First Bluetooth Watch Goes on Sale

The new Citizen Bluetooth-enabled watch (The W700 model) is now on sale in Japan (5,000 units only). The watch displays incoming calls from your mobile phone, while vibration technology as well as flashing lights serve as call indicators. Additionally, an optional alert is available to warn you if you leave your phone behind.

A small OLED display shows the caller id. The watch is large (40 mm x 42.4 mm x 46.6 mm) and weighs 55 grams. The battery is said to last five days, and the unit comes in black or silver.

BenQ Siemens launches a new music phone with a 2.2" PMOLED

BenQ Siemens has launched its latest music phone equipped with its 'Q-Fi' music system: a ten-band equaliser hooked up to a pair of built-in 3D surround-sound speakers, fed by the company's own music playback app and activated with dedicated controls.



The EF71 sports a brushed aluminium clamshell casing. There's a 2.2in, 176 x 220, 262,144-colour main display and a white, 128 x 64 OLED screen used when the case is closed. The phone has a two-megapixel camera with 9x digital zoom which can also be used as a webcam when the phone's hooked up to a PC's USB port. The EF71's battery can also be charged this way. Bluetooth connectivity is part of the package too.

eMagin reduces price of the Z800 3D Visor to 549$

Building on the momentum of its recent SDK releases, the company is also moving aggressively to make 3D gaming more accessible, lowering the price of the award-winning Z800 3DVisor from its introductory price of $899 to $549. "We're seeing the initial adoption of our SDK by game developers, which has come at a time when we've been able to improve our OLED display production, so the time was right to make this move," said Susan Jones, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, eMagin Corporation. "The release and regular updates to our software developers' kit and collaboration with leading companies highlight our commitment to 3D virtual imaging in general and the gaming market specifically."
