C|Net has reviewed the iRiver SPINN A/V player, and they are loving the 3.2" AMOLED display:

...and never have we seen a screen so crisp and so bright. Images are stunning; videos are smooth and sharp. In fact, in the video menus, moving thumbnails are used to illustrate listed videos, and there's enough detail given by the screen to make this look damn impressive.

iRiver is now taking pre-orders in Korea with the iRiver SPINN. As a reminder, this is an A/V player with a 3.2" AMOLED display (480 x 372). It's also apparently a touchscreen OLED. 

The SPINN costs about 260$ for the 4GB, and 300$ for the 8GB version.

C|Net reports that the iRiver Spinn will be released (in the UK) in August.

The Spinn has a large (3.2") AMOLED display, 480x272 pixels, which is the largest available OLED on the market, beside Sony's XEL-1. Price is not available yet.

MED today announces that its revolutionary eyescreen™ display has been designed into wearable mobile media headsets by a leading global manufacturer.

Estar Displaytech Co. Ltd, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of virtual display products, has recently taken delivery of 60,000 units of eyescreen™, the smallest display screen in the world. Based in Hong Kong, Estar manufactures eyewear for mobile TV, video and 3D cinema. Its personal display headsets incorporating eyescreen™ are being shipped by Estar to distributors for retail in the Asia Pacific markets.

OSRAM also released some more technical details. The OLEDs have a surface of 132x33mm and a luminance of 1000 cd/m². The OLEDs are based on small-molecule materials and achieve a lifetime of 2,000 hours and 20 lm/W.

OSRAM has announced the world's first OLED lamp called Early Future. It was designed by lighting designer Ingo Maurer. This is more of a 'prototype' than a real commercial product - they will only make 25 of these lamps, which will cost around €25,000.

The lamp uses 10 OLED panels by OSRAM, sized 132 x 33 millimeters.

LG said its supply has improved thanks to the growth of Viewty Pink in sales and the popularity of Korea’s first AM OLED phone.

LG has sold 1.64 million units in 1Q including 590,000 units in last month. It accounts for 26% in the Korean market. 

Ken Dulaney from Gartner says that the next geneneration of iPhones will have an OLED display. It's only a rumor - he said he overheard it in Asia.

"We’re starting to work on a completely new design of Optimus mini. Main direction: to have something like ‘mini Tactus’. One small sensor display divided into three (maybe more) zones.  On the top of our wish list is wireless capabilities (a lot of people use Optimus mini three to control Power Point presentations)"

Even when not plugged directly in to the computer Optimus mini should be able to receive signal. Thus one will be able to have AC-powered wireless PC informer anywhere within the Bluetooth range

Samsung Electronics said on Friday that it will introduce AM OLED handsets with either 2.8-inch or 3.2-inch organic panels supplied by Samsung SDI in the first half of this year.

"We have been discussing the supply of AM OLEDs with overseas phone makers and mobile service providers, while the company is in the second phase of investment to double the annual production capacity of AM OLEDs to 3 million from 1.5 million units" an official from Samsung SDI said.
