eMagin shows many military products using their OLED microdisplays

At the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), several companies show products that use eMagin's OLED microdisplays.

Intevac Vision Systems (IVS) shows a near eye displays, bonicoluars with microdisplays, and a monocular product. NVIS are showing a hand-held display, while Rockwell are showing a transparent microviewer designed for remote viewing. 

Sensics are also showing new head-mounted displays. The xSight is using 12 of eMagin's 3D OLED-XL displays, and delivers a 123 panormaic field of view, with 1680x1050 pixels per eye. There's also an OEM version.

All in all there are 9 products that use eMagin's OLEDs.

The Vuzix AV230XL Headset Is Using MED's P-OLED Microdisplays

Vuzix AV230XLMicroEmissive Displays (MED) just announced that the Vuzix AV230XL Headset announced a few days ago uses their EyeScreen P-OLED Microdisplays. The Tiny OLED Microdisplays bring large-TV like experience with the headset (like watching a 44" TV, actually).

The AV230XL is a video headset, designed to be used with many kinds of devices - from A/V players like the iPod to game consoles and mobile phones.

KDDI releases two new phones with 3.1" AMOLED


KDDI W63CA  (Casio)Earlier this month, KDDI showed a 3.1" WVGA (480x800) AMOLED, made by samsung. They said these will appear shortly, and today they announced two new phones with this display, both in the 'au' range - the KDDI W63H (Hitachi) and W63CA (Casio).



It seems like larger-sized AMOLEDs are finally getting into mass-market products, as in the last few weeks we have seen several A/V players and mobile phones with 3"+ OLED displays, for example the Cowon S9 Curve, the LG SU100, the Zeiss Photoscope 85 T* FL, and of course Kodak's 7" AMOLED photo frame.

7.6" AMOLED panels now available...


We've just got word from an OLED world-wide reseller that we're in touch with - and they got 7.6" AMOLED panels (CMEL) on sale - in fact they are shipping evaluation samples. The displays go 16:9 aspect ratio,
800x480 resolution and white to black contrast ratio of 30,000:1.
