The Samsung Super-AMOLED S8500 Wave to ship in the UK within 1-3 months for £349.99 unlocked

Samsung's super AMOLED
packing S8500 Wave phone is now available unlocked for £350 in the UK. Amazon say it'll ship within 1-3 months... We don't have a US release date yet. This will be the first shipping phone with a Super-AMOLED display.

The wave is running the Bada-OS, has a 3.3" 800x480 super-AMOLED display, and is also the first phone with Bluetooth 3.0. Other features include Wi-Fi, a 1Ghz processor, 5Mp camera, a-GPS, accelerometer, 2GB/8GB of internal memory, micro-SD slot
DivX/XViD support and 720p recording/encoding.

Samsung's S-Pad tablet to have a 7" Super-AMOLED?

Samsung's upcoming tablet computer, the S-Pad is confirmed for the second half of 2010 (some report an August release). There are rumors that this tablet will run on Google's Android OS and have a 7" Super-AMOLED (touch) display. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G (SK Telecom in Korea) and USB connectivity.

This is interesting news. Currently, the largest super-AMOLED display is the 4" used in the Galaxy S smartphone. We know that Samsung are working on 7" AMOLEDs (they'll use one in the 700Z photo frame).

The HTC Incredible is now shipping for Verizon

The HTC Incredible is now shipping for Verizon's network in the US - and it costs $99 with a new service plan (if you want to use an existing plan, it'll cost $530). The Incredible has the same hardware as Google's Nexus One, but with HTC's Sense UI: 3.7" 480x800 WVGA touch AMOLED display, Android 2.1, 1Ghz processor, 8mp camera and 8GB of internal memory (plus a microSD slot).

Dell to launch two OLED mobile phones

Dell's new phone lineup has leaked, and there are two OLED phones in there. They both have the same 4.1" WVGA touch OLED. Both are said to be released in Q4 2010 for 3G networks, with an LTE version coming towards the end of 2011.

The first phone is the Lightning which is a Windows 7 portrait slider, running on a 1Ghz processor. It sports a 5mp camera, GPS, GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio and full flash support.

Samsung's Super AMOLED S8500 Wave phone is now available for UK's T-Mobile network. You can get it unlocked for £366.99. With a plan the handset ranges from £59.99 to free, depending on the monthly payments.

Lenovo launches the LePhone in China

Lenovo has launched the LePhone in China, hoping to sell "millions" of this phone in the next five years, and "tens of millions" after that. The WCDMA LePhone has a 3.7" 800x4800 touch AMOLED. It uses Google's Android 2.1 OS. It also has Wi-Fi and GPS.

Liteye developed two new HMDs with eMagin OLED microdisplay

Liteye has developed two new head mounted display ("HMD") products equipped with OLED microdisplays from eMagin. The HMD's allows users to locate the display in virtually any position.

The LE-720A (image above) HMD is a high performance rugged solution for situational awareness applications, available in full color SVGA or monochrome video (is uses eMagin's SVGA+ OLED-XL microdisplays). Prototype LE-720A systems built into Oakley combat goggles are currently being evaluated internationally by military OEMs.
