Korea-based OLED materials maker Solus Advanced Materials has completed the construction of a new 6006 sqm plant that will produce its OLED related materials. The new plant, located at Iksan will start trial production soon.
The main materials to be produced in this new plant are high-refractive materials and encapsulation materials. Solus plans to build a new plant in the same site, by 2024, that will produce quantum dots materials.
It is understood that Solus is mostly targeting the TV and IT (laptops and tablets) segments with these new materials, rather than the smartphone market.
In 2021 Solus announced that the company will start supplying HTL materials for LG Display, for its E3 line in Paju, used to produce OLED TVs. Earler that year Solus Advanced Materials announced that it will setup a $20.5 million OLED materials fab in Changzhou, Jiangsu province in China.
