The Galaxy Alpha is a stylish slim smartphone with a metal case and lower-specification hardware compared to Samsung's GS5. It sports a 4.7" 720p Super AMOLED display, an octa-core CPU, a rather small 1860 mAh battery, NFC, fingerprint scanner and a 12 mp camera.
The Galaxy Alpha will launch in September 2014.
Samsung says that this phone's design is the new evolution in the Galaxy series, which may mean that the new Note 4 or possibly Galaxy S6 may adopt such a premium design too.
