Sony PVM-1741A / PVM-2541A

Sony's PVM series are picture monitors for a wide range of monitoring applications. The new âAâ Series are an update to their older PVM series, with a new OLED panel (the same one used in Sony's higher end BVM monitors) that offers a wider viewing angle and a reduced color shift (by half, compared to previous models). The PVM monitors offer Full-HD (1080p) support, 178-degrees viewing angle, 10-bit drivers and a 1W mono speaker. Inputs include two 3G-SDI, HDMI, composite and Ethernet.

Sony's PVM monitors are now shipping. The PVM-1741A costs $3,700 at Amazon.com (the US list price is $4,300).

Sony BVM-E250A / E170A

Sony's âAâ Series TRIMASTER EL OLED professional monitors for high-end cinema and broadcast applicationsÂ are an update to their older BVM-E series. The A Series use a new panel design that has a wider viewing angle and a reduced color shift (by half, compared to previous models). The monitors support HDMI, DisplayPort, 3G-SDI, SD-SDI and HD-SDI.

The 24.5" BVM-E250A and the 16.5" BVM-E170A will ship by May 2013.

Oxygen DCT FM-072SCO

Oxygen DCT's FM-072SCO is a "next-generation" premium quality OLED field production monitor for studio, outside broadcast, satellite news, engineering and field production. The display is a 7.7" AMOLED panel featuring 1280x800 resolution. We assume that the panel is the same one used in Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7 (so it's probably aÂ Super AMOLED Plus panel). Inputs include two 3G/HD/SD-SDI and HDMI for up to 1080 50p and 60p signals and both composite, YUV analogue inputs.

The FM-072SCO will be sold in the UK for Â£1721 - and the company says it's "highly competitively".

Sony PVM-741

The PVM-741 is a professional monitor with a 7.4" 960x540Â OLED display, a direct replacement of the PVM-740. The monitor features a 10-bit panel driver, multi-format signal interfaces with two 3G/HD/SD-SDI input capability, 3G-SDI interface, 8-channel audio level meter, HDMI and more.

SmallHD DP7-PRO OLED

The DP7-PRO OLED is a professional on-camera monitor that features a 7.7" 1280x800 Super AMOLED Plus panel. This is the same panel used in Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7. Other features of this monitor include advanced signal conversion, software FX output to secondary monitors, HD recording (to an SD card), Rec 709 Lookup Tables (LUTs), âX-PORTâ 80-pin accessory dock for expandable I/O, and proximity-sensing âSmart Keyâ technology.

SmallHD hopes to start shipping the DP7-PRO OLED in the fall of 2012. The cost is $2,699.

Sony PVM-2551MD

Sony's Trimaster EL PVM-2551MD is a 25" Full-HD monitor for the medical industry. It uses the same panel used in Sony's professional HD monitors (such as the recently announced BVM-F250). The panel is the first OLED panel to get an FDA approval for use in surgery.

The PVM-2551MD is now shipping worldwide.

The monitors offer hyper-accurate color reproduction and 'perfect' image quality without motion blur due to the OLED's fast response time. The display support HDMI, DisplayPort, 3G-SDI, SD-SDI and HD-SDI.

Sony BVM-F monitors

The BVM-F series will launch in November 2011 in Japan. The 24.5" will cost 1.5 million yen (about $20,000) and the 16.5" will cost 945,000 yen (about $12,000). We're not sure whether these will replace the BVM-E270/E170 range, as the F series is a bit cheaper than the E series...

Sony PVM-1741 / PVM-2541

The PVM-1741 and PVM-2541 are professional OLED monitors aimed towards TV, advertising and movie productions. These monitors use the same 16.5" and 24.5" OLED panels used in the higher-end BVM-E170/BVM-E250. Both monitors offer Full-HD (1080p) support, 178-degrees viewing angle, 10-bit drivers and a 1W mono speaker. Inputs include two 3G-SDI, HDMI, composite and Ethernet.

Both monitors are now shipping. The PVM-2541 costs around $5,500Â while the smaller PVM-1741 costs around $4,000.

Sony BVM-E250/BVM-E170

Sony's new range of TriMaster EL are professional Full-HD OLED monitors. They come in two sizes, the 25" BVM-E250 and the 17" BVM-E170. The monitors offer hyper-accurate color reproduction and 'perfect' image quality without motion blur due to the OLED's fast response time. The display support HDMI, DisplayPort, 3G-SDI, SD-SDI and HD-SDI. The monitors are thin - 148mm in depth.

The BVM-E250 will be released in Japan in May 2011 for 2.5 million yen ($30,000) and the BVM-E170 will be released in July for 1.3 million yen ($15,000).
