In recent years OLED technology has emerged as the leading smartphone display technology, and the world's most popular phone vendors are all shipping AMOLED smartphones.
In 2018, over 500 million AMOLED screens were produced - mostly to satisfy demand from mobile phones vendors. The smartphone OLED 2018 market was led by Samsung, who has been using AMOLEDs in its high-end phones for many years, followed by Apple, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei and others. Samsung is branding its smartphone OLED displays as Super AMOLED display.

Most display experts and consumers agree that OLED displays are the world's best smartphone displays. The best smartphone OLED displays are the Super AMOLED displays produced by Samsung Display, but other OLED producers (such as LG and BOE Display) are also producing high quality OLEDs.

The OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone offers a 6.78" 120Hz 4500 nits 1264x2780 LTPO AMOLED display (produced by BOE), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The Ace 3 will ship in January 15, starting at around $380.
Honor's X50 Pro smartphone offers a 6.78" 120Hz 1220x2652 AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 12 GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The X50 Pro will ship in January 2024, for about $400.
Vivo's iQOO Neo 9 smartphone family offers a 6.78" 144Hz 1400 nits 1260x2800 LTPO AMOLED display, up to 1 TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM.
The iQOO Neo 9 smartphones will ship by the end of 2023, starting at around $330.
Huawei's Nova 12 smartphone family has three models. The Nova 12 offers a 6.7" 120Hz 1084x2412 AMOLED display, a Kirin 830 chipset and up to 512 GB of storage.
The Nova 12 Pro and the Nova 12 Ultra offers the same display - a 6.76" 120Hz 1224x2776 LTPO AMOLED display.
The Honor 90 GT smartphone offers a 6.7" 120Hz 2600 nits 1200x2664 AMOLED display (produced by Visionox), a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The Honor 90 GT is now shipping in China, starting at around $360.
ZTE's Nubia Z60 Ultra smartphone offers a 6.8" 1500 nits 120Hz 1116x2480 AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It also sports an under-the-display camera.
The Z60 Ultra will ship by the end of 2023, starting at around $750.
Vivo's S18 smartphone family has 3 models. The standard S18 offers a 6.78" 120Hz 2800 nits (peak) 1260x2800 AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The S18 pro has the same display, with stronger specifications.
The S18e is a lower-cost model that has a 6.67" 120Hz 1800 nits 1080x2400 AMOLED display
The S18 smartphones will ship in early 2024 starting at around $300 for the S18e and $350 for the S18.
Samsung's Galaxy A25 smartphone offers a 6.5" 120Hz 1000 nits 1080x2340 Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 1280 chipset, 6/8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a microSDXC card slot.
The Galaxy A25 will ship soon starting at around $275.
Samsung's A15 budget smartphone offers a 6.5" 90Hz 1080x2340 Super AMOLED display, a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 125/256 GB of storage and a microSDXC memory slot.
The A15 will ship by the end of 2023, starting at around $210.
The OnePlus 12 flagship phone offers a 6.82" 4500 nits 120Hz 1440x3168 LTPO X1 AMOLED display (produced by BOE), a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
