Panasonic's new mid-range mirrorless micro four thirds camera spots a 16mp sensor, 7fps burst mode, top sensitivity of ISO 25,600, Full-HD (1080p@60fps) video, Wi-Fi, NFC, a 3" LCD and a SVGA (800x600) OLED EVF with an eye-sensor (so it automatically switches from LCD to EVF when you put your eye to the viewfinder).
Canon's XA-20 and XA-25 are professional compact camcorders that features a large CMOS sensor, a new DIGIC DV 4 CPU, 20X f/1.8 lens, XLR mic inputs and holders, independent audio level adjustment, SDI connectors (on the XA-25 only), Wi-Fi (with DSLR-like remote control via a browser) - and a 3.5" touch OLED display (1.23 million dots).
The XA-20 and XA-25 will ship by June 2013 for $2,499 (XA-20) and $2,999 (XA-25).
Canon's HF-G30 is a semi-professional camcorder that features a large CMOS sensor, a new DIGIC DV 4 CPU, 20X f/1.8 lens, Wi-Fi (with DSLR-like remote control via a browser) - and a 3.5" touch OLED display (1.23 million dots).
The HF-G30 will launch in June for $1,700
Sony's TX30 is the world's slimmest waterproof camera, and it's also dustproof, shockproof and freezeproof. It sports a 18.2 mp sensor, 5X optical zoom and a 3.3" touch OLED display (1,229,000 pixels).
The TX30 will ship on April 7, 2013 for $348. You can pre-order it now on Amazon.com.
The TG-2 iHS is Olympus' flagship waterproof/rugged point-and-shoot. The camera sports a 12MP sensor, 4X optical zoom, built-in GPS, Full-HD video and a 3" AMOLED display (610,000 pixels).
The TG-2 iHS is now shipping for $399.99 (with an accessory bundle).
Sony's A58 replaces the company's older A57 and A37. The camera sports a newly-developed 20mp sensor, new lock-on focus mode and auto-object framing mode. The EVF uses a SVGA (800x600) OLED microdisplay. The back display uses Sony's new Triluminos Quantum-Dots enhanced LCD.
The A58 is now shipping for $548, with 18-55 mm lens.
Nikon's D7100 is a DX-format (APS-C) digital camera that features a 24mp sensor (without an optical low-pass filter), 51 point autofocus, 7 fps 1.3X cropped shooting mode (2X compared to 35mm). The viewfinder uses an OLED data display (that's the first camera to ever do so). According to dpreview, the OLED offers noticeably better clarity compared to the LCDs Nikon normally uses.
The D7100 will launch in March 2013 for $1,599 (with 18-105mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens).
The AW110 is a rugged shockproof, waterproof and freeze-proof compact camera that features a 16 mp sensor, Full-HD videos, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS and a 3" AMOLED display.
Nikon's S9500 is an ultra-slim 22x optical zoom compact camera with a 18.1 mp sensor, Full-HD videos, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi and a 3" AMOLED display.
The NX300 is Samsung's new flagship digital mirrorless camera (APS-C). It sports a 20.3 mp sensor, 3D capability (stills and videos, requires a $600 2D/3D lens), Wi-Fi and 60 fps videos. The display is a 3.31" 768,000-pixels touch AMOLED.
The NX300 will be available in March 2013 for $750 (with a 20-50mm kits lens).
