We've got some more info, and a video of Samsung's new Transparent OLED panels, as displayed on CES 2009. The display on show is 4.3" in size offering 320x240 resolution. The Samsung rep at the video says that within a year it can be in the market (sounds a bit optimistic to me).
Update: the video was removed.
Update - it turns out that the new "secret" TV is not an OLED, but an ultra-widescreen 21:9 LCD.
Techradar reports that Philips will unveil a new TV in January 29th. Philips say that the TV "truly offers something new and is genuinely like nothing you've seen before".
Techradar also say that there are rumors that Philips are working on a "secret" OLED TV. we'll wait and see!

Here's a nice video showing OQO's Model 2+, the ultra-mobile PC with the 5" AMOLED display:
Doug Koshima, Sharp's Chairman says that Sharp still has no plans to develop OLED, and are sticking with LCD. This is a big bet by Sharp - if OLED TV start to take off, they might be left behind (like Sony did with LCDs and PDPs) - also OLEDs are great for PR, and Sharp might be seen as 'conservative'. On the other hand Sharp are saving a lot of money with R&D...
Earlier this year Sharp said that OLEDs will not threat LCDs for at least a decade.
Sony's CEO, Sir Howard Stringer gives his Keynote speech at the openings of CES 2009. he says that Sony's next step is a 20"-30" OLED TV (The XEL-2?).
Stringer also demonstrated a flexible OLED prototype, called "Flex OLED". This could be the future's e-reader, but Sony gave no details about production or time frames for this tech. Here's a photo:
Flexible OLEDs are hot in this CES. We've got a nice photo (from Ubergizmo) of UDC's fleixlbe OLED prototype. As we mentioned before, this is a 4" OLED, based on a project for the army, together with L-3 and LG Display.
We've got some nice photos of Samsung's transparent OLEDs, as shown at CES. We don't have any technical details yet. When the screen is off, it is transparent to about 70%-85%. Samsung says these screens can be produced within 2 or 3 years. Here's a nice video showing the same display and offering some more technical details.
OQO indeed announced their new UMPC model, the OQO Model 2+, as we reported a week ago. It has a 5" touchscreen AMOLED, 800x480 (WVGA).
The Ultra-Mobile PC has a new Intel Atom processor (1.86Ghz), 2GB of RAM, cellular 3G connectivity and can run Windows Vista or XP. The HD is 120GB. Check out this video of the new model.
