Samsung to release 14.1" OLED TVs at CES 2009
Techradar reports that Samsung plans to release 14.1" OLED TVs at CES 2009 (January 8-11). The TVs will cost around 1800$ (similar to Sony's XEL-1). The TVs will be High-Definition, 120hz.

Digitimes reports that AUO will base its OLED production on a-Si technology. AUO estimates it will enter mass production in 2011.
CT Liu, vice-president and general manager of consumer product display business group of AUO indicated that AUO is going to start developing OLED again in the fourth quarter of this year and concentrate on commercializing small-sized panels.
At the IFA show in Berlin, iRiver showed their Unit2 prototype - a home communication device.It functions as a video phone, digital photo frame, radio, gaming devices,messanger (SMS/MMS), A/V player and a web browser to boot. The display is a 4.3" touchscreen AMOLED.
The Unit2 has a 30GB H/D and 2GB of flash.
TechRadar is reporting that an "insider" says that Sony's 27" OLED TV might be available by year's end. This is faster than what was previousy stated by Sony - by June 2009.
The same rumor says that Sony will also be bringing 31" OLED TVs 'soon' after the 27" one. The price of those TVs will probably still be very high.

There were rumors that the new Canon EOS 50D camera will have an OLED display.
Canon officially announced the camera today, and unfortunatly the display is a 3" TFT LCD, and not an OLED...

In other news, CMEL, Grand View Technology and Maction Technologies announced the world's first OLED-using DVD GPS system for car navigation. The OLED is a 4.3" display.
Karl Ludwig Kley (Merck's CEO) said that Merck aims to be one of the market leaders in OLED for displays. Merck however thinks that OLEDs will not only take over LCDs at least until 2030.
