UBI Research estimates that solution based OLED processes could reduce the price of a 55" OLED TV panel by as much as 43" compared to the currently used WRGB evaporation based process.
UBI further says that solution-based OLEDs will be cheaper to produce than LCD panels. The company estimates that companies will start mass producing solution-based OLED TVs in 2018, and the market of solution-based panels will reach $2.4 billion by 2020.

Meh...consider me unimpressed. Of course solution-based OLEDs have the potential to be very cheap IF the technological issues are ever going to be solved. That however has been known for more than a decade...problem is the IF is quite big...
Oh and as for market growth...$375 million by 2020...what is that? 0.5 percent of the overall market?
It turns out that this figure was incorrect - UBI's actual estimate is for the soluble-OLED market to reach $2.4 billion in 2020...
Solution OLED is cheaper then LCD after 43% drop in price ?
Nonsense, today OLED are many times expensive than LCD
And solution-based OLED have worse burn-in druability, than already weak evaporated OLED
A product with a lower BOM manifest should cost less then one with a high BOM count!
