Universal Display reported their financial results for Q4 2014 - $56.2 million in revenues (up 13% from Q4 2013) and a net income of $16.5 million (and an income tax benefit of $41.4 million).

For the full year 2014, UDC generated $191 million in revenues (up 30% from 2013) and a net income of $32.7 million (excluding the tax benefit in Q4). In 2014, UDC generated $47.3 million in operating cash flow (compared to $45 million in 2013).

LG Chem today unveiled the world's biggest OLED lighting "building installation" at Seoul National University's new main library. LG Chem supplied 1,100 OLED panels used for reading lights.

LG Chem says that SNU adopted OLED lighting because they energy efficient, extremely comfortable to the eyes - and they enable modern designs due to their slim profile. LG Chem supplied 550 desk lamps to the University, and next month they will start marketing those lamps to other customers.

A couple of weeks ago LG Chem announced that they have started to mass produce the world's largest OLED lighting panel at 320 x320 mm. The panels are 0.88 mm thick and feature 60 lm/W, CRI of over 90 and an output level at 800 lm - 1,200 lm. LG today revealed that the panels cost $680 per panel (lower prices for bulk orders).

LG Chem also announced that they completed the development of their "truly flexible" plastic-based OLED panels. They now offer engineering samples for $250 and mass production is expected by July 2015. Prices will be lower when mass production starts.

In March 2014, LG Chem announced the world's largest OLED lighting panel at 320x320 mm. The company now finally started mass producing this panel. The 0.88 mm thick N6SD30 features 60 lm/W, 800-1,200 lumens brightness, a high CRI (>90) and a color temperature of 3000K.

LG Chem also announced two new mounting solutions for easy OLED lighting panel installation with magnetic connections. First up we have the Rail Connection type (shown above), in which each panel is cased and a DC-DC driver is integrated. The AC-DC driver supplies the DC to the conductor rail, and each lighting unit is magnetically attached to the rail.

A few days ago we reported that Home Depot now offers two OLED luminaire families from Acuity Brands - with prices starting at $199. This is exciting these are the cheapest OLED luminaires ever on offer, and these are the first OLED lamps ever to be offered in such a retail channel - and we've got some more information from Acuity Brands.

Acuity reveals that the Aedan and Chalina were both designed exclusively for the Home Depot (even though the designs resembles two of Acuity Brands' own OLED Luminiares, the Nomi and the Revel). Those OLEDs are currently available at Home Depot's online store and also at their store in Woodstock Georgia (not sure if they have plans to intrdoduce it to more stores).

Acuity Brands have been developing OLED luminaires since 2010, and have released several models commercially. Now Home Depot started offering some of the companies smaller OLED luminaires, with prices starting at $199.

Home Depot currently offers four OLED products from two families, the Aedan 2-panel lamps ($199, wall mount-sconce or pendant) and the 5-panel Chalina ($299, wall mount or pendant). These are probably the cheapest OLED luminaires available today, and it's great to see them retail at Home Depot!

Korean design firm HaeChan Design launched a new OLED luminaire brand called O'CLESS, which exclusively uses LG Chem OLED panels, and already unveiled several new lamps (all will be commercially available this December):

There's a new pop-up restaurant called Tincan in London's Soho that offers gourmet tinned seafood dishes. The interesting small restaurant (designed by AL_A architects) uses OLED lighting panels as the main lighting (in addition to some LED down-lights in the bar).

Tincan uses 16 circular OLED lighting panels produced by LG Chem. The designers found that because the OLEDs emit no heat, they can use simple 3D printing materials to build the prototype designs (actual end products were made with aluminum spinning method).

A new coffee shop opened in Korea called Marley Coffee (inspired by bob Marley's motto, "One Love"). They installed 15 OLED Butterfly Luminaries that use a total of 240 OLED panels - 53x55 mm panels produced by LG Chem.

Those OLED butterflies are connected to a motion detector, and they flicker when movement nearby is detected. LG Chem says that because the OLED panels have no glare, the flickering does not cause discomfort like in other types of lighting.
