LG Electronics to demonstrate 55" rollable OLED TVs in CES 2016
Back in 2012, LG Display was awarded a project by the Korean government to develop 60" UHD flexible and transparent panels by 2017. Later in February 2014, LGD said it is still on target for this project, and in July 2014 the company demonstrated 18" flexible (shown below) and transparent OLEDs.
Today LG Electronics announced that it will demonstrate a 55" rollable OLED TV at CES 2016 (which will take place in Las Vegas, on January 6-9). This is just a prototype, of course, but according to LG Display's original plan, it will have production ready 60" UHD rollable transparent OLEDs by 2017.
Haier shows OLED TVs at IFA 2015
China's Haier demonstrated OLED TVs at IFA 2015. We do not have any information on those TVs, beside this video which only shows them for a few seconds at the beginning:
Back in January Haier unveiled their 55" curved super-slim (1.5 mm) Full-HD 55H9800 OLED TV. it may be that this is the same TV shown now. As far as I know the H9800 is not shipping yet.
Panasonic explains why their OLED TV is superior to LG's
AVForums published a rather long interview with Panasonic's Hollywood Labs VP of operations, Ron Martin. Ron gives some details on Panasonic's CZ950 OLED TV and explain why they believe it is superior to LG's own OLED TVs (even though, of course, Panasonic uses LGD's panels).
Panasonic announced TX-65CZ950 is the company's first commercial OLED TV. It's a curved 65" 4K OLED panel that features Panasonic's 4K Pro tech which includes advanced gradation controls and 3D color look tables. The TV supports HDR and is THX certified. Panasonic did not yet reveal the release date or price of this TV, but it will probably be more expensive than LG's own 65" 4K OLEDs.
Video shows LG's new double-sided OLEDs
At IFA 2015, LG Display presented a new double-sided 55" OLED prototype that is aimed towards commercial or retail applications. The whole displays is just 5.3 mm thick and weighs just 12 Kg. You can see it in the video below:
The video also shows LG's 55-inch "wallpaper" OLEDs which were first unveiled in May 2015, which is really impressive...
LGD to launch its OLED TV alliance later this month
Back in march 2015, we reported that LG Display is in talks with companies in China, Japan and the US with an aim to establish an OLED TV alliance. Digitimes today reports that LGD is progressing with its alliance, and the company expects to start signing agreement later this month.
Digitimes says that the alliance will include China's based Skyworth, Konka, Changhong, TCL and Hisense. LGD is already supplying OLED TV panels to China's Skyworth, Changhong, Haier, Konka and KTC.

The company's CEO, Dr. Sang Beom Han, gave the IFA 2015 keynote speech, and he was very enthusiastic on OLEDs.

Panasonic promises flat OLED TVs soon, says OLEDs will be affordable within 2-3 years
A few days ago Panasonic announced the company's first OLED TV, the TX-65CZ950 - a curved 65" 4K OLED panel that features Panasonic's 4K Pro tech which includes advanced gradation controls and 3D color look tables. The TV supports HDR and is THX certified - and is based on WRGB (WOLED) panels produced by LG Display.
The director of Panasonic's TV business, told CNET that the company expects OLED panel prices to drop, to the point where they are within reach of average consumers in two or three years. He also says that the benefit of the curved shape is "not so big", and consumers prefer flat TVs. In fact he says that Panasonic's next flagship TV will "probably" be flat.
Panasonic announced the company's first OLED TV
As expected, Panasonic announced the company's first OLED TV, the TX-65CZ950. This is a curved 65" 4K OLED panel that features Panasonic's 4K Pro tech which includes advanced gradation controls and 3D color look tables. The TV supports HDR and is THX certified.
The OLED panel itself is produced by LG Display, and uses LGD's WOLED (WRGB) architecture. Panasonic used to co-develop OLED TVs together with Sony, but that OLED TV joint development project was canceled in December 2013. Panasonic (together with JDI, Sony and the INCJ) formed a new company (JOLED) to develop small/medium OLED panels. But the company OLED TV program is reportedly halted.
